TYPES OF ZIPPERS
The type and name of zipper is given on the basis of the material used in zipper teeth.

  • PZ: Plastic Zipper

  • NZ: Nylon Zipper

  • MZ: Metal Zipper
          G.K: Antique Brass Zipper
          G.B: Golden Brass Zipper
          AL : Aluminium Zipper
          NI : Nickel Zipper

TEETH SIZE/ZIPPER CHAIN SPECIFICATION
Teeth size is expressed by #3 to #10 and onwards. #3 representing smaller size teeth and #10 the larger.

FUNCTION OF ZIPPERS

  • O (O/E): Open-End

  • C (C/E): Closed-End

  • M (2Way) : 2 Way Open-End

Open-end zippers are generally used in the front of garments. Closed-ends are used in pockets, hoods, legs of garments.

POSITION OF SLIDER
L/S (Left Slider - same as R/H-Right Hand): When a jacket is opened the slider remains at the left side of the user. In Europe and Asia left slider is used both by male and female. In USA, left slider is generally used by female.

RS (Right Slider - same as L/H-Left Hand): When a jacket is opened the slider remains at the right side of the user. Right slider is generally used by male in USA, Canada, South American countries etc.

INTERNATIONAL ZIPPER TOLERANCE
Following are practiced international zipper tolerances:
 
Length Clearance
Less than 30cm +/- 5mm
31cm to 60cm +/- 10mm
61cm to 100cm +/- 15mm
101cm and up +- (Length + 3%)
